Your Ideas Are Important!

A resident parking pass is $25 before tax. Although this is a good price when you consider the cost of day parking, it is becoming more and more absurd when you look at what surrounding municipalities do. The Blue Mountains, Tiny Township, Barrie, Innisfil and soon to be Collingwood all provide residents with a FREE parking pass. This includes waiving parking tickets to residents who mistakenly forgot to display their pass and were able to later prove residency. Why is Wasaga Beach the only municipality in our area that charges residents for a parking pass where we live? We already receive no discounts or benefits when parking in provincial lots which make up most of the beachfront parking within town. Wasaga Beach should change the system to be more in line with what other towns are doing, especially during COVID.

We need to prioritize the clean up of New Wasaga Beach. We need to have Provincial Parks allocate beach maintenance to include this beach, so that it is treated with as much care as all the other beach areas. This beach is so important to the community members who live nearby, and it is no longer in an enjoyable state. We need to: -prevent the spread of the invasive species of Phragmites -clear vegetation that has overgrown the beach -eliminate standing pools of water that harbour mosquito larva -have washrooms that are connected to sewers and have running water -rake the beach - not have it as a protective zone for the piping plover anymore -clean the debris off of the beach -clear a path along the shoreline so you can walk the length of the beach -get rid of garbage and glass on the beach -FIGHT FOR THIS BEACH

Mostly an issue in the summer, but it can take a couple of lights to get through the intersection depending on how quickly the drive through lines move and how the drivers pull into the parking area.
