3 seems the best for me
Number 3
I prefer vision #3, because it includes the idea that we are heading toward an eclectic, green and unique formulation of our town, and emphasizes the beauty of the beach.
We need to avoid an industrial feel here, but consider the massive demographic shift that is coming in terms of retired people who will need housing that keeps them independent, socially active and fit. This means a walkable village like structure in nodes which include spaces to gather, creative studios which can be rented by independent researchers, artists, educators and holistic healers.
I prefer Vision 1, its concise, and covers it all. We definitely need a tax base related to business formation so that people raised and educated here, can work, continue to live and contribute to the community, and hopefully this won't take 20-40 years?
3 this one seems the most accurate as of today
I like #3 the most as it includes our number one asset - the beachfront.
I think the first statement definitely describes how Wasaga beach should be in the future. Wasaga Beach as a residential community and place to work, raise families and retire and is definitely more than just Beach One and tourism. We are a growing and thriving community and I feel we should define ourselves as a place that offers a great quality of life for those who reside here or choose to invest in seasonal properties to enjoy their recreational time as well as promoting ourselves as a great location for businesses. Our proximity to Toronto and young well educated entrepreneurs who want to work where housing is more affordable than in the city should be promoted more. Keep taxes reasonable, housing prices affordable and encourage stable long term business employment and I feel we will be growing in the right direction. Focus on providing services to the entire community, good roads, sewers, water etc and sensible spending of ratepayers funds to build a solid community 4 all
I think I like number three, but they're not very descriptive of what's actually going to be done. I like the eclectic nature of the old cottages and tall mature trees.
None...unfortunately the words fully serviced and completely are missing in our current structure. We lacking a high school and entertainment facilities. Seasonality continues to drive boom and bust availability and quality of activities and products.
As for which do I think our future should be...again...none. I like 3 the best but the reliance of highlighting the freshwater beach has limited our ability to attract tourism all year around and therefore will continue to create a lack of consistent visitors that our community needs.
